Elen of the Way
Elen of the Way went from being a little know goddess, who might be related to a Scandinavian elk goddess, to a modern goddess and saint, and maybe even a real person.
She is known by several names Elen of the Ways, Elen of the Roads, and Saint Elen who was a real person, who founded churches in Wales during the 4th century. and Elen of the Hosts.
Elen of the Ways is one of those Goddesses that it is felt has ancient roots, but also has gone through a rebirth into our current times, where she as many modern attributes, her antlers lend a sense of sovereignty, and she is strongly connected to the land, fertility and renewal and nature. There are aspects of protection and success especially for hunters. It can be said that she is a protector of those who wander due to her association as protector of roads, paths, and indeed ley lines.
She is a modern goddess for sure but she also has deep roots that stretch far into our past and connect to our ancestors and the land our ancestors came from.
