The Horned Lord and Fae Queen combo.
I figured as these are partnered at Ravens Knoll that it would only make sense to create a print of the two of them in one print. for those who woudl prefer a two in one or have limited space but still watned both. They do make quite the striking couple.
The Horned Lord the lord of the wild forest, but is also urbane enough that he can sometimes be found in cities and towns. He speaks of magic and mystery, and things that found in between, in between trees, rivers, stones, houses, doorways and in between words. He is the master of liminal spaces. He is much loved, adored and honoured. He has an energy that is a little raw, a little tame and will make your hair stand on end.
The Fae Queen, she has hints of Mari Lwyd, the Lady Bonnechere and the Fey Queen. She is pictured here in a forest, that was the sacred spiral at the Knoll. At her feet are offerings of candles and flowers, and she is bedecked with flowers and offerings that she has been given during a ritual. What blessings will the Fae Queen bring to your sacred spaces.
A Stang is a forked staff, that is made from a forked branch. these can be carried around like a staff, and used as a portable altar, focus for a quick hedgy ritual or as the bases for a shrine, as they are portrayed in this art.
I created the originals as applique textile tapestries. The inspiration was to create something that was sacred, connected and rich with magical symbolism, and could be a doorway to the magic and spirit of what is depicted and that the witch or magical practitioner could invite into their working space or home.
